Gwen Jansz

Roseanne, Rosemary, Rosalie, Darrel & Leyanne (and families),

I am so sorry for your (and our) loss.
What I remember the most about your father was his compassion and kindness.
I remember when we were very young and I came to visit Rosalie in London, I managed to misplace one of the reading books I brought with me. I was old enough to realize that this was a minor problem and was pretending that it didn't matter, but Uncle Brian saw how upset I actually was and responded with quiet kindness; even though I'm sure he had better things to do with his afternoon that day, he patiently helped me look through the whole house for that book, and, when we couldn't find it, gave me the hug I needed instead. I will miss the wonderful hugs that he would always get up to give (despite his bad back) at family get togethers, and his unfailing, genuine concern for each of us. He truly was a gentle man.
My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you as you adjust to the hole in your lives that your Dad's passing has left you with. Take care and be gentle with yourselves.
Love,
Gwen
